I wrote this song about my grandparents. They just had their 50th anniversary on February 3rd. I started thinking about how many people have gotten divorced, and how many people have unhealthy marriages. My grandparents are still madly in love after fifty years together and I think they are a perfect example of the kind of love that everybody wants. I like to use metaphors in my songs and this one is full of them!
It is shorter than most song's, and I guess one could say it's more of a poem! These are the lyrics so far:
Song Lyrics:
Tomorrow's never promised, and our hindsights 2020, we're always wanting more even when we have plenty.
Chorus:
And this life is pretty stormy, but there's sunny day's mixed in.
Most of us are floating 'round like feather's in the wind.
A few of us get lucky and we find a little love, others fall so hard they think that love is just bad luck, and the few believers left are just "plain crazy", and I guess that's why we've made it this far baby. (repeat)
Oh I guess that's why we've made it this far baby.
